1. When I try to open a library resource from off campus, it asks for a username and password. What information does it want?

To access things like databases from home, you need to use your MyPVCC login.  You can save time by logging into MyPVCC before clicking on any databases.  Or you can log in to Blackboard and go to the "Research" tab on the upper right hand side of the page. Then click on the Jessup Library link. Now you can go to any databases without logging in first.

2. How can I access ebooks from my computer at home?

To access ebooks on EBSCOhost click on this link. If asked to log in, please use your Blackboard ID and password. You do not need to have an account with EBSCOhost to read the boks online. If you would like to save the books to an online folder, you can create an account by clicking on the "sign in" link and then choosing "Create a new account."

3. What do I need to do to check out books from the library?

You don't need a library card to check out books. We only need your MyPVCC user name or your student number. Books check out for four weeks and can be renewed twice. You may also check out magazines or journals for one week. Our videos (VHS or DVD) may only be used in the library.
