Need Help?  Please email reference@pvcc.edu, call us at 434-961-5309, or bring a device (like your phone) to the library.  We can walk you through the process.

Step 1:

Do you have an existing paid New York Times subscription to their website?  You must cancel it before it may be linked to PVCC's college-wide subscription.  You may cancel through Customer Care.  Email customercare@nytimes.com, or call 800-591-9233.  (Note: This subscription includes access to the website and all articles.  It does NOT include a subscription to NYT Cooking or the New York Times Games.)

Step 2:

Log out of all accounts (such as your email, Google, Apple, MyPVCC, Canvas, Facebook, etc.).  Do NOT be actively logged into any online account.  During this process, you will create an account with the New York Times' website.  Logging out will ensure you tie your New York Times account to the personal account you want to use.  If you remain logged in to an account, the website will automatically select that account.

Step 3:

Go to accessnyt.com.

Step 4:

Search for "Piedmont Virginia Community College" in the search box.  Select it from the dropdown menu when it appears.

  1. If you do NOT have a New York Times account, click Create Account.

Step 8:

Are you a student or a faculty/staff member?

  1. If you're a student, select "Student", enter your estimated graduation year, and an alternate email address.  Then click Sign Up.

  2. If you're a faculty or staff member, select that from the list.  Then click Sign Up.

Step 9:

Follow all the next prompts.  Click "Continue setting up", sign up for any newsletters you want (or select Maybe Later), and sign up for the app (or say No Thanks).  When you're done your account is active!
