How do I request or place a hold on a book the library owns?

Request or Place a Hold on a Book

Step 1:

Go to QuickSearch.

Step 2:

Sign in to your account in the top right corner.  (Note: Only current students, faculty, and staff can place holds in the system.)

Step 3:

Login with your myPVCC username and password.

Step 4:

Search for a book that you want.  Click the "On shelf" button on the right to limit your results to only those at are available in the library.

Step 5:

Click the title of the book you want to request/place a hold.

Step 6:

Click the "Request" button under "Request Item."

Step 7:

Fill out the form with your address (no PO Box).  Then click the Request button.  While the library is closed, the library staff will mail you the book.  Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.

  • You can see a list of all your hold requests and books checked out by clicking your name in the top right corner, and clicking "My Library Account" or "My Requests."
