Access African-American Poetry, American Poetry, English Verse Drama, and English Poetry 600-1900. Note: If you're off-campus, you will be prompted to login with your myPVCC username and password.
Enter your search terms in the search box. You can enter the title of a poem or the name of an author or a combination of both. Click the search button.
Review the results. Take note of the title, author, and the source where it's found. Click the title of the result you want to read.
Read the text that appears. Note that many of these works are part of larger collections. In this example, "We Wear the Mask" comes from the book The Collected Poetry of Paul Laurence Dunbar. If you want to read other poems in the collection, use the left navigation to browse the other poems. In addition, if the gold highlighting bothers you, select "Hide Highlighting" to turn it off.
To download a copy of the poem, select "Save as PDF" in the top right corner.
