How do I search Films on Demand?

Search Films on Demand

Step 1:

Access Films on Demand. (If you're off-campus, you will be prompted to login with your myPVCC username and password)

 

Step 2:

Enter your search terms in the box at the top, and click the Search icon.

Step 3:

A list of videos will appear in the results.  Pay attention to the date of the video.  Many of the videos in Films on Demand are several years old.  For a topic like nursing, it's important that you only use and watch more recent videos.

Step 4:

If needed, filter by the copyright date of the video.  Click the "Filter Options" and limit your results by copyright date.  We suggest "within 5 years" for topics where it's important to get recent information.

Tips!

tip

  • Need videos with closed captioning or a transcript?  Click Advanced Search, and scroll to the bottom.  Check the boxes next to "Show only CC programs" and "Show only programs that have interactive transcripts."  
    click on CC and interactive transcripts options under advanced filters
     
  • Another way to search this database is by publisher.  Click the Menu icon next to the "Films on Demand" logo.  Under Featured Producers, click "View All."  Click the network's logo (such as HBO) to see everything in the database released by that publisher.
