How do I search Gale eBooks?

Step 1:

Access Gale eBooks. (If you're off-campus, you will be prompted to login with your myPVCC username and password). You may also search the "Start Here" box on the library's homepage.

Step 2:

Enter your search terms and click Search. Use simple terms, such as  "alcoholism" or "Steve Jobs" or "World War II."

Step 3:

Review the results. Pay attention to the title of the book series out of which that entry was pulled. This is important because knowing the title of the series may give you a better understanding of how that article approaches the topic. For example, the topic of "alcoholism" appears in a book about nursing, about substance abuse, and about genetic disorders.  

Step 4:

Click the title of the article (in this case, "alcoholism") to read it.  

• The menu on the top right of the article page has options to download, print, and send the article to email, OneDrive, or Google Drive.  This is especially helpful if you find several articles you need to save.
