Search OVID Journals

Step 1:

Access OVID Journals. (If you're off-campus, you will be prompted to login with your myPVCC username and password).

Step 2:

Select "Journals@OVID Full Text" and "Your Journals@OVID" to search for articles.  Do not select "Books@OVID."  Click OK.

Step 3:

Select the "Limits" dropdown menu, and select "OVID Full Text Available."

Step 4:

Enter your search terms, and click Search.

Step 5:

Review your results.  Results are organized by date with the most recent articles at the top.  This is important when researching medical topics because the field is rapidly changing.  Find an article you want (taking note of the date), and click the "Article as PDF" link to download it.

Tips!

""

  • Not all articles are available for you to download.  If you deselect the "OVID Full-Text Available" option and run the search again, you will see some articles with a link that says "PDF (Pay Per View)."  You NEVER have to pay for an article as a PVCC student.  If you want one of these articles, request it through Interlibrary Loan.  We will get a copy from another library and email it to you.

  • You can also limit your results to only those articles published in the last 5 years (which is recommended for medical topics).  Click the filter on the left.
