How do I search Nature?

Search Nature

Step 1:

Access Nature. (If you're off-campus, you will be prompted to login with your myPVCC username and password).  

 

Step 2:

Click the Search, and then click Advanced Search.

Step 3:

Enter your search terms in the first box.

Enter the journal title "Nature" in the journal search box.  Select the first one in the list labeled "Nature."  Note: Nature publishes many journals, and PVCC only subscribes to main one called Nature.

Step 4:

Click Search, and review your results.  Pay attention to the type of source (comments and opinion, research, or news).  If your professor said to find a "peer-reviewed article," then look for the ones labeled "Research."  Also watch the publication date, as an older article may contain outdated information.

Step 5:

Click the title to read the article.

  • Nature is a great source for topics in the life sciences.  It is published weekly, and it contains a combination of news, commentary, and research-based articles.  However, it is only one journal.  Search our other biology databases to find more articles.
