Open Educational Resources Playbook

EdX is an open source educational software start up venture between MIT and Harvard.

Our open courses span a variety of high-demand subjects and disciplines. Designed using high quality open educational resources (OER) rather than commercial textbooks, these courses are freely available as a service to the education community. You can use them as-is or modify them to fit your instructional style and students’ needs.

MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) is a web-based publication of virtually all MIT course content. OCW is open and available to the world and is a permanent MIT activity.

A collection of high quality, free-to-use courses that you can download and use for teaching. All content is stored in Google docs making it easy to access, browse and download.

The Open Learning Initiative offers online courses to anyone who wants to learn or teach. Their aim is to combine open, high-quality courses, continuous feedback, and research to improve learning and transform higher education.

The materials including the free courses made available on the OpenLearn Site ("Materials") are released under the terms of the Creative Commons licence. This allows you to use the Materials throughout the world without payment but for non-commercial purposes only.

Open Yale Courses provides free and open access to a selection of introductory courses taught by distinguished teachers and scholars at Yale University. The aim of the project is to expand access to educational materials for all who wish to learn.

Utah State OpenCourseWare is a collection of educational material used in our formal campus courses, and seeks to provide people around the world with an opportunity to access high quality learning opportunities. Browse free online courses in a variety of subjects. University of Washington courses can be audited free or students can choose to receive a verified certificate for a small fee.
