Search the Web Efficiently

Restrict your Internet searches to specific domains (ex.: .gov, .mil) or  specific sites (ex.: cdc.gov, pbs.org)

Use Google or Bing with these formats (note the punctuation!):

  • To search specific domains, enter the following in the search box:

(term) site:.domain

Example: flu site:.gov

  • To search specific sites, enter the following in the search box:

(term) site: site name.domain

Example: flu site: cdc.gov
